Bitcoin records its worst February performance in 11 years

Despite positive expectations, Bitcoin underperformed in February 2025, experiencing its worst February since 2014.

Despite optimistic forecasts and a positive historical record, the price of Bitcoin fell from around $102,500 at the end of January to around $84,000 at the end of February, representing a 17.39% decline. This decline was largely due to Trump’s escalation of trade war tensions.

It is worth noting that in February 2014, Bitcoin’s price had fallen by more than 31%. Also, the price of Bitcoin has only fallen in February 2020 in these 11 years, while BTC has increased in all other years.

March has a mixed history for Bitcoin, but it has been on an upward trend for the past four years. However, February’s poor performance shows that history does not always repeat itself and Bitcoin’s future in March is uncertain.
